Setting up your baby's nursery - Things I'm glad we had either purchased or registered for our baby's nursery.

My very wise and experienced husband was very clear to inform me that all we really needed was a diaper, a bottle and a wash cloth in order to care for our baby.

That may be true... However, I was expecting my very first baby and I felt that there was something very romantic about setting up a nursery. I had read so many books and Internet sites suggesting all types of Layette needs and must haves for your baby's nursery, and I was sure I needed everything. I will admit that one must be very privileged to purchase all these items. Or one must have very generous friends. Admittedly, I am / I have a little of both so I was able to fashion my son's nursery with almost everything I thought I should have.

(Of course I could excuse these purchases by saying that nothing was purchased at Pottery Barn for Kids or any of the super high end Baby stores. )

Now that my son is almost a year, I have the benefit of knowing what was a good purchase and what I could have done without. Here is that list of items we researched and sought out and most importantly needed for our baby.
